As we close out the Wild Horses collection and our series celebrating the wild horses of the Virginia Range in Nevada, we thought it would be appropriate to end with a spotlight on one of the main characters on the range and the sire to our first two featured horses, Silver Ghost.

Silver Ghost is a very successful stallion who is approximately 8 years old. He’s considered a Cremelo and is unique with his silver streaked mane & tail. He’s sired multiple foals, including our catalog models, Echo and Hondo. Currently, Silver Ghost has 13 in his family band, two of which are colts who will be coming of age this summer and they’ll be forced out. Like most stallions, Silver Ghost is gentle and kind to his family, but can appear rough when they don’t follow his directions.

~ As a former New Yorker/city dweller, my husband introduced me to horses and horseback riding. Our first horseback rides were around 2014-2015 and we’ve been hooked ever since with these amazing animals. I am grateful to Cheryl and the DDR team for bringing to life the Wild Horses collection, as well as highlighting what Marty Wright is doing. Last, I am grateful for the models used in the Wild Horses Collection. Seeing your fabulous clothes on real life models (in my age group), was a refreshing change instead of just seeing them on a hanger. It also gave me fresh insight into how I can put a new spin on all the DDR I have in my cowgirl closet. ~

Sunday is my favorite day each week because I have my first cup of coffee and ready my Sunday Double Dose. I have especially loved the Wild Horse series. Thank you for doing all the extra work for the photo takes, Wild Horse education and stories including lunch! I have loved Double D Ranch since I bought my first leather jacket in 2000 in a Western store in Washington State. For years I had such a hard time finding it unless I was lucky enough to get to Taos. To me Double D is artwork and better yet I get to wear it! Thanks!
