OUR LEADING LADIES ARE BEING HONORED

In case you missed it in the Addiction Meetup recap, the ladies of Double D Ranch – Cheryl, Hedy, Audrey, and Margie – were recently named the 2026 recipients of the Annie Oakley Award!

The award is granted annually by the Annie Oakley Society, which is “made up of women leaders and philanthropists who, like Annie Oakley, play a significant role in shaping their communities while keeping the values and spirit of the West alive”, in conjunction with the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City. The award recognizes women with grit, determination, and excellence. It honors pioneers and visionaries who embrace and enhance the spirit of the American West.

“Double D Ranch is a true Western success story, but what makes it especially meaningful is that it is also a story about family,” said Cathy Keating, former First Lady of Oklahoma and Co-Founder of the Annie Oakley Society. “Audrey, Cheryl and Hedy have created something remarkable together, with their mother, Margie, at the heart of it all. They have built a brand that women across the country have come to love, while making an unmistakable mark on Western culture and style. It is a privilege for the Annie Oakley Society to honor these four extraordinary women and celebrate a story defined by creativity, perseverance, family, and heart.”

The McMullen ladies were nominated by one of our own Addicts, Angela Lieurance, who is a remarkable woman and very dear to the DDR family.

“The brand's whole identity is built on being bold, beautiful, and unapologetically western,” said Angela. “That's basically the Annie Oakley thesis in fashion form. But Cheryl, Hedy, and Audrey, along with their beautiful mama, Margie, have built more than a brand —they've built a movement that channels the same fearless, independent spirit as Annie Oakley herself, generation after generation. This award fits this family perfectly.”

She had the opportunity to announce the news at this year’s Addiction Meetup, but the formal awards ceremony will take place at the Annie Oakley Society Luncheon on November 11th at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum.
