“Black Gold” is what many Texans have affectionately nicknamed crude oil. (And aptly so, considering its monetary value and how people flocked to Texas in hopes of finding it, not unlike the California/Alaska gold rush.)

To us, black simply is gold – or rather, golden. It is just so ubiquitous and timeless and honestly, essential, to fashion. Regardless of season or collection, black always seems to find a way to make itself right at home at Double D Ranch; whether it’s the bold accenting to an otherwise colorful garment, or the solid and subtle canvas upon which vibrant embroidery comes to life.
While we’re on the subject, crude oil is also often called “Texas Tea”. (Although, aside from Jed Clampett, nobody really seems to know why.) The term has also taken on some other entendres, like the Lone Star State’s version of a Long Island Ice Tea. But around Double D Ranch, if we’re talking “Texas T”... we mean turquoise, of course! It may not be quite as valuable, but it’s every bit as precious to us. While it won’t make us millionaires, discovering a good piece of Old Pawn or vintage turquoise is a thrill as big as Texas!
