The short answer is that every day is something new at this point! We are less than a month from opening, and the countdown is definitely on! We are so excited to swing open the doors of DDR’s Shop at Round Top and welcome our faithful fashionistas and some fresh new faces.

“The floor is finished!” Cheryl exclaimed. “I think we sneak-peeked y’all that a few weeks ago, of our team hand-painting the floor. Let me tell ya, that project was right up there with photo shoots – I had a vision for it, committed to it, and got everybody on board to drive down here and bring it to life, and then we got in the middle of it and were like, ‘why did we do this to ourselves?’ Which is exactly how we feel by about day 2 of a photoshoot. And, just like a shoot, in the end, it was totally worth all the sweat and swearing. Fortunately, UNLIKE photoshoots, this is one and done!”

So we’ve got that piece in place, which was obviously a major undertaking, and now we are starting to move stuff in, which makes it feel really real.

“Have we told them about the boot?” Cheryl asked, before turning over her shoulder to add, “Audie, can I tell ‘em about the boot?”

“I don’t know why you even ask anymore; you’re going to anyway!” Audrey answered. “But yes, go ahead.”

“Ok, so we are having a big neon boot made!” Cheryl exclaimed excitedly. “The boot is essentially the mascot of the Round Top store, kind of like how the longhorn is the icon for the Fort Worth store. We’ll have caps, patches, stickers – all that – with this boot. Even a scarf. And so we had this guy named Todd Sanders with Roadhouse Relics custom-make us a neon boot that’s going to be a focal point of the Round Top shop. It’s going to be the Instagram-able feature, like a destination piece, a Round Top must-do. Like Austin’s ‘I love you so much’ wall, it’s going to be like that. We need a hashtag – let’s ask Addiction what the hashtag should be!*”

*Y’all be thinking on a hashtag, and we’ll open up a little poll in the Facebook group!

The official opening date is October 12th, in conjunction with Round Top’s annual Fall Market Days, but we got a chance to do a little soft opening for the attendees of the illustrious Southern C Retreat, and if the feedback from that group of remarkable women is any indication, we feel pretty dang confident you gals are gonna like this place!

I love that floor and the neon pink sign! Sorry if it was a lot of trouble but it looks great! If my back would let me travel, I would come check it out myself! Love it!!!!

I can tell by the photos it’s fabulous. My daughter Tammy and I will visit in October. I’m so excited for you. Looks like it fits right in at Round Top.
