One time, in the early 1990s, when we were just a fledgling clothing company, we learned a very valuable lesson. We lost ourselves trying to chase trends. We let consultants and critics convince us we needed to pivot more towards the mainstream, rather than cater to our corner of the market, our niche we’d carved, our own brand of bold. We produced a line that simply wasn’t true to us, and it didn’t feel good. From that point forward, we vowed to always believe in our customers and bet on ourselves. So, when almost nothing in the trend reports was resonating with us for fall, we decided it was time to blaze our own trail – and blaze it wide open.
This collection is unique and eccentric and elegant all in one. We allowed ourselves to experiment with old classics – like our take on toile and the trench coat – and try out some things that are novel and new to us – like velvet vests, structured cashmere, and the exquisite incorporation of fine furs. Everything about this collection is a little bit different, yet distinctly DDR. It’s crisp and elevated, even in the way we photographed it, with mesmerizing monochromatics and sleek silhouettes.
It's a salute to the corporate cowgirls. It’s a toast to broadening horizons, breaking glass ceilings, and blazing your own trail.
