    A lot goes into creating a collection – from concepting to design to production to photoshoots to catalog to launch – so by the time we get to debut it to you gals, it’s been a whole long labor of love, and well, we think that deserves celebrating.

    “Our aim is to give every collection its own little activation event,” explained DDR’s Marketing Manager, Leeann Wenske. “We try to come up with something that’s alluring and engaging and that feels unique and authentic to the collection itself. And, of course, I think it's a bonus if there’s a tangible take-home that’s kind of a keepsake to commemorate the collection and the experience. Obviously, this won’t be feasible for every collection, every time, but we’re having fun with the ones we are able to execute!”

    For Rhinestone Suits & Cowboy Boots, we had those fun keychains and the mystery trunk of prizes. For Atomic Ranch, it was those adorable pins and pre-programmed phone with messages from the McMullen sisters letting you know if you’d won a little something extra. For Wash House – a collection so strongly rooted in memory and nostalgia and personal experience – a journal felt on point.

    “Wash House was really personal to me,” Cheryl said. “My heart is in every collection, but sometimes it’s a creative collaboration where we get to showcase someone else’s story, like Cowgirl Rising, or maybe it’s just a style story I really want to tell and explore, like Rhinestone. But when we were concepting this collection and even talking through it for catalog articles, I joked that it felt like sharing my old photo albums or a journal from my childhood summers. So, I think this is a really cute, really apropos idea.”
