Not to be dramatic, but this is a mix-and-match made in heaven.

“Matching sets are a strong trend right now,” Cheryl explained. “We have been seeing them on trend reports for a little while, and it’s been interesting to see how different designers are interpreting them. We love a duo, we always have – from all the way back in the Nudie Cohn era, which inspired some of our favorite pantsuits – and right now, we’re really loving an everyday set, one that’s versatile and easy to style.”

Here’s what sets this set apart!

THE LONG AND SHORT OF IT

One of the things that makes this duo work well is the pairing of the silhouettes. Obviously, the crop top is everywhere right now, and we know what you’re thinking – “that’s a teeny-bopper trend!” – but it really isn’t! There are chic and sophisticated ways to rock the shorter silhouette without looking like you’re out of your element, or even showing any skin! This particular crop is finished with a wide waistband that is flattering and feels fitted and tailored, which works with any high-waisted bottom – a jean, a linen pant, a wide-leg trouser – but really pairs perfectly with the Painted Vistas Skirt, not only because it has a similar waistband, but because it’s balanced by the skirt’s sweeping maxi length.

    MIX-AND-MATCH-ABILITY

Making the most of your wardrobe is all about wearability and versatility, and the Painted Vistas pieces are so easy to pull off multiple ways. Of course, we designed them with their counterparts in mind – to meet perfectly in the middle with the matching waistbands and the complementary short top/long skirt combo – for an effortless, eye-catching full-length look. But, we also wanted each piece to be its own little statement-maker. The skirt is so comfortable, flattering, and easy to wear with something as simple as a white tank or turn up the chic with a tied-up chambray button-down. The top is ultra-versatile with anything from cutoffs to white jeans to wide-legged dark denim.

    COLORS & CLOTH

The sunset-inspired motif really brings this look to life. The oranges are tempered by the beautiful blue, and by designing the stripes in waves (rather than straight across) it conquers the dreaded “horizontal stripe” optical illusion we all want to avoid. Additionally, the cloth is a unique exploration for us, straying from crisp cottons or luxe velvets, this woven lends itself to seasonless style you can rock all year long.

Interested in tips for accessorizing? Keep it simple, sweetheart! Traditional tooled leather belts with a trophy buckle – or a classic concho! – and some sleek silver, dangles and stackers are perfect!
