SUMMER’S IN OUR SOLES

It’s time to put a little spring – and summer – in your step!

“Boots are a tricky business,” said Cheryl. “We spent some time struggling to get stock for a little while. Then, we spent some time trying to really evaluate what styles had staying power and which ones we should think about retiring. And then, you know, the whole creation of a boot – from concept to construction – is kind of a long birthing process. You have to get the silhouette just right, the heel height, the toe shape, and then you might have to source an unconventional material you want it made of, like denim or hair-on hide, and we pore over every embellishment, because boots are meant to be a mainstay. All that is to say, by the time we’re able to debut a new design, we are ready to shout it from the rooftops!”

And that’s precisely what we’re doing! Several of you savvy shoppers have already spotted some of the summer styles that slipped into sneak peeks, and now that they’re proudly printed in the pages of the new Rhinestone Suits & Cowboy Boots catalog, we are beyond ready to shine the spotlight and give them their due debut!

BUTTERFLY VIBES BOOT

We’ll start with these colorful kicks because they hold an extra-special place in our hearts. Growing up, our Mama Margie (who y’all all now know as Nana) had a pair of butterfly boots that, to us, had to be the most beautiful things our wide young eyes had ever seen. They came from Cutter Bill’s in Houston, which of course, was the pinnacle of fashion for us, and boy, did they leave an impression on us gals! So, in designing the summer collection that really channels the aesthetic of the era, it felt like a perfect fit to resurrect the memory and reimagine those butterfly boots with updated appeal and unforgettable colors. The pretty pink leather is complemented by a suede shaft and toe tips in analogous shades of red and fuchsia, and they’re embellished with eye-catching inlay of rudimentary florals, eyelet accents, and of course, a bold, spread-winged butterfly on both front and back. They can turn even the simplest solid sundress into a whole head-turning look!

WESTERN MOTEL BOOT

We couldn’t possibly pass up the opportunity to create a boot commemorating all the aesthetic elements of one of the most unforgettable collections ever! This busy boot sets the scene of a starry night sky somewhere in the southwest (you know, on account of the saguaro cactus), ignited by the buzzing neon sign welcoming you to the Western Motel. Of course, we couldn’t capture the essence of the collection without namesake rhinestones – they really sell the sparkle of the stars and the shine of the sign – and how could we resist retro room keys as pull tabs? We incorporated a little animal print and a pop of pink, and voila! (Word to the wise: you might not want to wear them in a rush, because strangers will definitely stop you on the street to complement these conversation-starters!)

CHAPARRAL BOOT

Y’all, how sweet are these shorties?! The soft powdery pink and traditional tonal toebug stitching lend a demure, feminine feel, while the white contrast trim and turquoise accents add a touch of twangy charm. And of course, the star of the show – the chaparral! Funny thing about this little feathered fellow, he was inspired by a statue Cheryl saw in Round Top and immediately thought, “Oh, that needs to be a boot, don’t you think?! We could make his little tail go up the tabs!” And we sure did – a detail even more darling than we imagined. (He then migrated his way on to everything from a poncho to a purse, but he was born right here on this boot.)

We also have a couple styles this season that aren’t exactly “brand new” releases, but definitely bring a fresh feel to familiar favorites.

COWGIRL RISING COMES IN PINK

We introduced you to this twangy cowgirl classic in both blue and black when we launched Cowgirl Rising, but we really only soft-launched the pink version, knowing it would really show up strong in summer. The pretty pink is tempered with red and white that brings out that perfect balance of girly and grit!

LONG TALL SALLY GETS A WHOLE NEW LOOK

For years, the Long Tall Sally Boot has been the staple show-stopper – there’s just something about that ultra-tall shaft that’s inherently sexy! We’ve made it black, white, red, and a handful of other iterations, but no other iteration comes anywhere near the level of look-at-me luxe you’re going to get from this hair-on-hide cheetah print pair! We just cranked these kicks up from show-stopper to jaw-dropper!
