    From road trips to workouts to just getting ready in the mirror, music adds an undeniable ambiance and can totally set the tone for the occasion.

    “We always have music on the set of a photoshoot,” said Cheryl. “Sometimes it’s just to pump us up on a grueling day three, but mostly it’s to set the vibe of the collection, to transport everyone to place and time and state of mind we want to convey in the editorial images. Sometimes that’s easier than others – Willie’s Picnic, Bakersfield, Nu Patriot – and sometimes it’s not so on the nose and you really have to embrace the attitude and ambiance as a whole.”

    No doubt Roughneck Rodeo means something different to everybody, everyone identifies with a different character in the story – the wildcatter, the roughneck, the lease lady, the oil barron – so building that broad of a playlist is a tricky task. We took a stab at compiling some songs that spoke to us in relation to Roughneck Rodeo, just for fun!
