Nothing turns a head like red. From candy apple to crimson, it’s a shade that says you are showing up to be seen.
Red is strong, it’s sexy, it’s powerful, and it’s inherently rebellious in a way, all characteristics we appreciate and, incidentally, all things that tend to align with the legend of Billy the Kid. In that vein, we decided to do it up daringly, bringing you traffic-stopping biker jackets and whistle-worthy sexy suede boots. Even the innocence of eyelet is amped up to edgy when presented in a punchy red.
“I think Rihanna’s Super Bowl halftime show apparel is an excellent example of the kind of bold, vibrant red you can expect this season,” Cheryl said. “Whether you loved it or hated it, you’ll remember it. Monochromatic, head-to-toe red – BRIGHT red – is just impossible to ignore, and you’ve got to respect the daringness of it. The thing about red is that it’s not a fad color. It’s more of a constant, like black and white. Neons will come and go, purple will come and go, pastels will come and go, but red remains. But it does trend; how red shows up can vary, and unsurprisingly, that’s influenced by celebrity, so I think thanks in part to Rihanna, we will see strong statement pieces in bright red. Think jumpsuits, capes, leathers. I think our Sonora Jacket with all that fringe is a good example. And the Long Tall Sally Boots in red – those will be knockouts forever, but they’re going to be really in demand this year.”
Alright, so who’s ready to paint the town red?!
