Serape is a staple for us, it’s part of our style story, and we get a thrill out of dreaming up ways to do it differently.

“I’m particularly partial to this print,” said Cheryl. “I love a traditional striped serape, and I think we’ve made some remarkably beautiful ones – especially the ones they said ‘couldn’t be done’ because they were too complex! But I am loving the layering of the colorful striated stripes beneath a bold blanket pattern. The colors contrast and complement well, the vibrant summery shades are tempered with that deep rust hue, which extends the wearability to work in every season.”

As eye-catching as the print has proven to be, the silhouettes make a statement all their own.

“Nothing we did in Saddle Up is ordinary,” she explained. “Even the classic short-sleeved top is given those subtle elements that separate it from your typical tee, like a slightly scooped neck and the side ties. It’s still every bit as effortless as a T-shirt, but you throw that on with a pair of jeans or cutoffs, and it’s elevated to an ‘outfit’, ya know?”

And that’s perhaps the simplest of the push-the-envelope pieces. Let’s look at what sets the Saddle Up serapes apart.

    SADDLE UP DRESS

“It’s a sleeveless shift with a little bit of shape. A true shift is a really straight-line pattern, but we gave this dress just a whisper of a waist that is figure-flattering without being fitted. This is a dream dress for summer because it’s sleeveless and flowy, good breathability, but being sleeveless also makes it perfect for comfortably pairing with a jacket to rock it in fall and spring. Oh, and we granted every gal’s wish – POCKETS!”

    SADDLE UP SKORT

“What I love about this one is that we went full 360-degrees with the skirt appearance. Some of our skorts we do a wrap-style front, but from the back, they look like shorts, which is great for certain looks, but I like that this piece has all the chic-ness of an actual skirt, with the care-free comfort of shorts. And again – POCKETS!”

    SADDLE UP JUMPSUIT

“A jumpsuit is really a statement in itself, isn’t it? Making an entrance in a jumpsuit just exudes confidence. Everyone should experience it. That’s what’s so great about this one – and about the way silhouettes are trending in general, I think – toward a relaxed fit and a wider leg. You don’t have to be a stick-figure in a skintight jumpsuit anymore, a la the ‘70s. The Saddle Up Jumpsuit is uniquely adorable on a variety of body types, and it’s versatile among personal styles as well. Throw it on with a simple pair of sneakers for an easy everyday look, dress it up with a big concho belt and wedges, or style it with a colorful cropped jacket and the Maddie Mules. It can go a million ways!”
