“It’s a whole process,” said Audrey. “You can’t just buy a booth space, you have to apply to be a participant – there’s an essay and everything! So we knew that this was an event that truly takes its mission seriously, which made us even more eager to be a part of it and see what it was all about.”
We sent some of the DDR team out to Wickenburg, Arizona, for the week to set up and man the booth at the 2026 Art of the Cowgirl event and as expected, it was a really neat experience. Naturally, we had a few first-timer’s learning curves to navigate – our tent felt so tiny (we’re not used to operating out of a 10’ x 30’ space!) and of course, our point-of-sale system was acting up at first, as technology is always wont to do – but we’re no stranger to all that, and we made it work. In fact, the team did a really impressive job setting up beautifully in such tight quarters.
We got to experience first-hand what the culture and the vibe of the event is like, which was incredibly cool and inspiring – all these remarkable women of the Western lifestyle with really unique talents that they’re sharing with the world. It really is an event unlike any other we’ve attended.
Of course, being so far from home, we met a lot of new people and made a lot of new friends, and we also got to see a few familiar faces, which is always a treat!
We want to give a huge shoutout to Bryson and Sealy who trekked everything out there and manned the fort all week, and our sweet Kennadee Riggs and her sister, Raylen, who were out there being boots on the ground for us! All in all, the feedback has been great, and we will definitely be back next year!
