HAPPY 250th BIRTHDAY, AMERICA!

You don’t look a day over 249!

This summer, the country is celebrating its semiquincentennial, or if you prefer less of a mouthful, its 250th birthday. With it being such a major milestone, you can expect the summer to be an exaggerated patriotic party, and this collection – aptly dubbed Nu Patriot – is primed to outfit you for every occasion.

Not only is Nu Patriot predictably rich in red, white, and blue (with a surprising pop of green gingham), but it also strongly showcases the emblems of Americana – the Stars and Stripes, the Statue of Liberty, and even eagles. It incorporates more subtle nods to the American spirit, like a heavy presence of quilts and a hand-drawn toile of historic images and national landmarks, and we collaborated with artist Dolan Geiman to create a custom collage. We reimagined our original flag jacket that put us on the map, and created an unprecedented beaded biker – with beaded boots to match. And, of course, we embraced it in the accessories, from vintage finds transformed into jewelry to a custom-created Mummy’s Bundle choker designed to mimic Old Glory, and WWII victory pins we spent many months collecting.

It’s elevated Americana glam. It feels like summertime and timeless tradition, with a reverent yet celebratory spirit. After all, two-and-a-half centuries of democracy is certainly nothing to sneeze at. Freedom is beautiful, and we wear it well.
