Not sure we even need to put it in writing that jewelry is the dream gift… but we will. Because it never hurts to be reminded that jewelry – particularly Southwestern jewelry – never goes out of style, appreciates with time, and always fits. (Ok, we know rings can be the exception to that last one, but that’s just splitting hairs.)

Plus, there might be some gift opportunities in the genre that didn’t even think about, for people on your list that you weren’t even planning to give jewelry.

CUFFING SEASON

From clusters to stackers to ketohs, a good Southwestern cuff is universally appealing and a welcome sight in any stocking – guy or gal. Maybe you go ornate and elegant with an Ondelacy for her, or studly with a classic Charlie Favour leather-lined cuff for him, or a chic silver band for either/both! A cuff is one of those “can’t go wrong” gifts.

#YOLO, GET THE BOLO

A bold bolo is one of our absolute favorite ways to accessorize – they’re eye-catching and unexpected, and like the cuffs, they’re unisex. (Technically, you can gift your man a bolo you can share – win-win!) Whether you want something ornate and intricate like a needlepoint cluster or a jaw-dropping statement stone or something with a little personality, you can jazz up his pearl snap or add some awesome to her/your LBD! Want to really wow them? Up the ante with a detailed Calvin Desson or this “oh, wow!” Oscar Betz.

OSCARS, OBVIOUSLY

Speaking of Oscar Betz, owning a pair of his signature chandelier earrings is essentially a rite of passage for any woman with Southwestern style. It’s like a Louis Vuitton bag or Double D jacket – you never forget your first, and you can never have too many! All of Oscar’s stones are hand cut and hand set, so you’re gifting a truly cherishable work of art. You’re sure to unwrap a smile with a pair of Oscars under the tree! PRO TIP: Let your gal create a custom pair! Reach out to Customer Service (1-800-899-3379 or customerservice@ddranchwear.com) to coordinate a gift certificate for her own unique Oscar earrings.

A RING, AND I DON’T MEAN ON THE PHONE

Rings are a little more difficult to pick for someone else, but as long as you know her ring size, you’re golden. And odds are, she’s already been eyeing one, if you just ask! Statement rings are all the rage right now, so keep that lucky lady in your life perfectly en vogue with some awesome inlay, stunning specimen stones, a contemporary cluster, or of course, an Oscar Betz.

‘FANTASY GIFT’ a la STANLEY MARCUS

Hands down: Elvis Presley’s squash blossom necklace! It’s not quite as over-the-top as His & Hers Helicopters, but it would take a super-special someone to slip this stunner in a stocking. It’s gorgeous in its own right, it would be a worthwhile investment piece no matter where it came from, but the fact that it once belonged to The King himself makes it a covetable collector’s item. (For what it’s worth, it will only appreciate over time.) But listen, you can still blow her mind without totally blowing your budget; we have a stunning assortment of statement squash blossom necklaces with more modest provenance – and price tags – so you can still give the gift of Southwestern style!

PACKAGED TO PERFECTION

If you really want to win Christmas this year, go the extra mile and gift the jewelry in one of DDR’s Turquoise Travel Series jewelry keepers. Keep that squash secure in a San Antonio Squash Keeper, zip that cuff up the Tucson, slip those earrings in a Zippered Envelope, or better yet – let the package BE the present, with the ultimate travel companion, the Jumbo Travel Case, or a permanent storage solution with the highly-coveted Treasure Chest!
