In the Western lifestyle market, there’s something decidedly different about Double D Ranch. Renowned for its hand-made boots, bench-made hats, and signature apparel, fans of the brand range from country superstar Lainey Wilson to rocker Tom Petty. Beyond style, the line’s true authenticity stems from the McMullen sisters, whose Western values and rural roots have shaped both their aesthetic and approach to life and leadership.

“We grew up in the fields and stables,” said Hedy McMullen Carter, reflecting on the sisters’ shared childhood. “It taught us the importance of hard work, humility and the value of a dollar. But above all, it taught us how to combine our strengths, rely on each other and bet on ourselves.”

Audrey McMullen Franz, DDR’s CEO, speaks to a shared appetite for adventure. “Some of the times that felt most connected to our Western roots were when we’d load up in the back of the Suburban and head off on a road trip,” she recalls. Traveling together nurtured their independence. “We weren’t exactly in covered wagons, but it sure felt close.”

Last year, the maverick-minded sisters launched a trio of collections under the banner “Blaze Your Own Trail,” experimenting with new fabrics and styles, including Texas toiles and suede bustiers.

“Sometimes, you just have to trust yourself and embrace individuality,” shares company Creative Director Cheryl McMullen. “In a society that often celebrates sameness, owning what makes you different is its own reward.”

Today, Double D devotees span generations and professions, from ranchers and rodeo queens to
philanthropists, artists, retired teachers and C-level executives.

“Our community isn’t just made up of customers; it’s a sisterhood of the most diverse and spirited cowgirls you can imagine,” says Cheryl. “No matter their background, they all share the same cowgirl spirit.”

I fell in love with DDR over 25 yrs ago. First piece…fringed leather jacket…still a classic and I still get compliments every time I wear it. Been a follower of the Addicts for many many years. Been to the Meetup twice in Yoakum. Always excited about the new lines each time they launch!! Your family is indeed special…talented, kind, beautiful, and full of love for others. I have developed new friendships and increased my love for the Western Wear because of you and your continued creativeness. DDR is by far the best thing that caught my eye. I am forever grateful. Keep designing, creating, loving, and may you have continued success with all your new adventures. Your team and your family are all beautiful people. God is Love.
