This time of year can really take its toll. Freezing temperatures, harsh winds and even central heat can all dry out your complexion and leave your hair feeling dehydrated and looking dull. Luckily, we know just the thing to keep you looking gorgeous during the colder months. Take note ladies, this is your new cold weather beauty routine:

Say hello to a humidifier

Indoor heating systems - and heck even sitting by the fire for too long - can really dry out the air around you, and in turn your skin. To make sure you're putting all that lovely lost moisture back into your face, switch on a humidifier stat. It'll start infusing the room with lovely water droplets that your skin will drink up. Turn it on before bed and in the morning your skin should feel hydrated and refreshed, with zero effort on your part. What's not to love?

Learn how to layer your products

The trick to keeping moisture sealed into your skin is learning how to layer your skincare products correctly. You should always apply the thinnest products (like serums) first, and then continue in order of thickness. Next up would be SPF - yes ladies we need to apply this even in winter! - and then finish with your heavy day cream to seal in all that hydrating goodness. Bonus points if you apply your first skincare layer to slightly damp skin - it'll help you lock in even more moisture!

Drink up!

We're all guilty of slacking on drinking the recommended amount of water when it's cold out - but it's hard to get motivated to drink so much when all we want to do is stay inside with a hot cocoa (or a hot toddy!). But as we all know for glowing, hydrated skin, of course upping your water intake is the best solution. You won't just see the benefit in your complexion but your luscious locks will be way more shiny if you're hitting those water goals. We aim for 11 and a half cups a day. Come on Wolf Pack, let's all hold each other accountable on this one!

Invest in some hydrating hair care

Another way to make sure your hair stays soft and supple in winter is to create a weekly hair routine, so you can dedicate some time to inject a ton of moisture back into your locks. Start with a hydrating shampoo, follow it up with a rich hair mask that you leave in for a good half an hour, and then once you've rinsed it out and blow dried it, finish with a hair serum or oil on your ends to keep them soft and shiny. The oil will also work to protect your hair from the cold weather, tame flyaways that winter hats often give you, and stop any more breakages from happening in the first place.
