The Past & Present collection is such a beautiful one, full of rich colors, luxurious textures, and of course, the incredible art of Maura Allen. It felt like a refreshing way to dress for the holidays that feels elegant and festive, without being in-your-face, and in colors that can carry throughout the year. The customer response has been outstanding, and we’ve certainly been loving it here at the DDR headquarters.

While December has been an absolute whirlwind of a month for our crew, we were able to get some gals – including some new faces you may not know yet, and a couple of our boss ladies! – to stand still long enough to show off their favorite styles of the season. Check them out!

“The Ada feels amazing. It’s the top you need in every color in your closet. I am obsessed with the maize color and when I was looking for what to layer it with, the Western Point of View jacket was an easy YES. The crop of this jacket is so flattering and it’s so soft.”

“I am a sucker for any denim dress, especially one with pockets. The brass studding is stunning against the Oxblood denim, which is absolutely gorgeous!”

    HEDY CARTER: Buffalo Gal Caftan

“Well, it’s a typical ‘Hedy dress!’ It’s comfortable and beautiful and doesn’t touch me too much. It’s long, which I like because I can wear it all year, and it’s a little bit dressier than some of my other DDR dresses; it’s something I can wear to an event and feel elegant.”

“This was a fun and unexpected dress for me, normally I’m not a big velvet lover but the way that this color looked with my skin tone and hair color sold me. Plus, it’s super fun to play with because of the broom skirt design!”

    GERRI TOBOLA: Serenity Rising Top

“I was immediately drawn to the colors in this top, they’re so rich. And the silk is luxurious; it elevates my go-to denim jeans.”

“I chose the Path to the Ponderosa Pant and Rainbow Corn Blouse because I love all of the maroon in this collection! I loved the Ponderosa Pant as soon as I saw it and the Rainbow Corn Blouse added a fun twist to it!”

    AUDREY FRANZ: Georgina Jacket

“What’s not to love about fur? I love this jacket—first and foremost, it’s absolutely drop-dead gorgeous. But what really sets it apart is how surprisingly lightweight it is and how effortlessly it can be styled in so many different ways. It feels elevated without ever losing its authenticity—a true statement piece that’s as wearable as it is stunning.”

JILL JACOB: Path to Ponderosa Dress (belted)

“This dress is fun, flattering and can be worn in so many ways! I wore it with a belt, but it can definitely be worn without! I am looking forward to layering it, too! The Juliette top would look beautiful under this dress or one of the Ada blouses or the brown McCoy, too! Add the matching jacket, Path to the Ponderosa - this looks so good with it, too! So many options!”

“I couldn’t resist this top – the fabric is so unique and the shimmer is really fun, plus, I really like the volume of the sleeves and that they’re a half-length. The duster feels very signature DDR to me, with the blanket pattern and concho buttons, but the vibrant fur adds a little edge and makes it really fun to wear.”

DORIS LOREDO: Walks In Beauty Jacket (with Juliette Lace Top and Bandit Pant, both in bone)

“I picked the Walks of Beauty Jacket in Bronco because it reminded me of the scout jackets we did back when I first started employment at DDR. The beadwork on the back lower part of the jacket is outstanding. When you are looking at the jacket, you get so awed by the front one tends to forget that the back adds a totally different look to the jacket. And if you are like me and love ‘different’, then you will definitely want this jacket! It has all of DDR in one: studding, beading, fringe, hairpipe, button closure. The perfect jacket for a DDR lover!”

“I picked the Oh Those Western Skies Top because of the beautiful colors and fun lacing at the top! This top is easy to dress up with a bandit pant or super cute with a pair of jeans.”

“I chose the 8mm Skirt because the cut is incredibly flattering and fits like a dream. On top of that, it’s covered in Maura Allen’s stunning work, making it feel less like clothing and more like wearing a true piece of art.”

Love the Scout style jacket. I still have an original (shoulder pads and all) as it was my first DDR purchase back in 1988. Compliments for keeping it in your collection.
