CHANNELING A SOUTHERN GOTHIC ROMANTIC

This collection is full of character – and not just character, characters.

We knew the vibe we wanted Born on the Bayou to embody, but at first, we struggled to conceptualize it in a way that was authentic to Double D Ranch. Well, it’s always easier to dress a woman than an idea. So, we created this character who is part Southern lady, part witchy mystery. She has impeccable manners, a Louisiana drawl, and always keeps fresh flowers on the dining room table. But, you suspect she might also have a voodoo doll and some tarot cards in her bedside drawer, and perhaps an Ouija board at the top of her closet for special occasions.

She’s feminine but formidable, and slightly mystic in a way you can’t quite pinpoint. She gets dressed according to what version of herself she woke up in that day, she doesn’t give a second thought to what you think of her. She is tight-lipped, but her clothes have volume; her appearance announces her entrance. Her accessories are excessive and unexpected, but also exquisite.

You are in awe of her, intimidated by her, and drawn to her all at once.
