In the midst of all the celebrating we’ve been doing lately – aren’t the holidays such a whirlwind? Not to mention we have a million birthdays in December! – we, as a family, also took a pause to celebrate the Banff collection, and our favorite pieces in it.

“Working on designing the 2022 holiday collection, I had a bit of a bittersweet moment,” Cheryl admitted. “At the risk of tooting my own horn, I am really, really proud of the Banff collection, and I’m just not sure I can top it. The sophisticated color palette with a hint of sparkle, not to mention the addition of cashmere!”

So, when it came to discussing our personal favorites of the collection, the unanimous (and almost simultaneous) response was “THE CASHMERE!” You’ve already gotten to see Audrey in her cape, celebrating her boys’ birthdays, Cheryl rocking it with her Carhartts while working cattle, and Hedy, well, she doesn’t post as much, but believe us, she’s rocking hers, too.

Ok, cashmere aside, these are the McMullen sisters’ picks from Banff:

AUDREY: Mount Assiniboine Deer Top

“I don’t like trying to pronounce it, that’s for sure, but I do love this top. I think it’s really cool how it has all the elements and aesthetic of a sweater, but it’s actually in a lightweight top. That’s a gift in this part of the world, because it doesn’t appear we’re getting a ‘winter’ this year. Also, it’s super soft.”

CHERYL*: All Things Alberta

“Can I have a whole category? I really like anything with ‘Alberta’ in the name: the jacket, the pillow, the boot, the tee – all of it. I’m really taken with that embroidery, it’s such a unique style for us with that French influence and it lends an exceptional elegance to every piece. It’s hard to narrow it down beyond that, I can’t pick a favorite.”

HEDY: Falling Snow Top

“Easy to wear and easy to accessorize! I love the fit and the arched hemline, for one, and because the embellishments are on the sleeves, my necklaces pop, like a blank canvas. I actually have it in both colors, I think Presley does, too. And I’ll wear it year-round.”

*Cheryl’s Runner-Up: Mountain View Tee

“One of the fun things about DDR is that a tee is never just a tee, and I think that’s what I love about the Mountain View Tee – it’s really soft and feels like a tee, but it’s so far above what you would think of as a tee, if that makes sense. It has so much going for it. The silhouette is subtly chic, the relaxed mock-turtleneck and the slit sleeves; the aesthetic is very DDR, southwestern with a little bit of sparkle and dimension; and the color palette is soft and sophisticated, so it’s essentially a neutral. What’s not to love?”

We’re curious – what are YOUR favorite pieces? Leave us a comment!

Agree, the Banff Collection is one for the ages! The National Parks collections are fabulous. Hard to choose favorites. Something for everyone for sure. The efforts, and talents of the DDR crew are greatly appreciated. Happy New Year.

Asking what is my fav pick is asking me to chose which of my four children I love the most! Fortunately I have been collecting ( and I mean collecting) DD pieces for years and love everyone of them! I am 75 now and plan on buying these iconic gems to the day I die💕💕💕

It’s hard to pick a favorite, but I agree with Audrey! The Assiniboine deer top is at the top in my opinion! Brilliant design and colors and the complete outfit with the boots pictured above is absolutely perfect!! I’m so excited that I scored both in the New years day sale!! Cannot wait till they arrive!! ❤❤❤
