BENEVOLENCE IS BEAUTIFUL
True tragedy of unfathomable proportions hit Texas last week. Destruction, devastation, and immeasurable loss raged through the Hill Country in an unprecedented and nearly instantaneous flooding of the Guadalupe River. Century-old institutions were decimated, hundreds (if not thousands) of homes were wiped off the map, and far too many precious lives were lost.
We felt helpless as we watched and prayed and obsessively refreshed our news feeds, hoping for a glimmer of good news that never came. And when the rain stopped, we knew we had to help somehow – however we could.
“From the very beginning, our customers began reaching out to us, asking what we can do as a group, to combine our efforts and have a greater effect,” Cheryl said. “And that’s a testament to the kind of customers we have and what an incredible community they’ve built around this little clothing brand. They’re remarkable men and women who are so compassionate and giving, they’re the first to lend a hand. So, of course, we felt compelled to come up with a way to contribute to the victims of this horrific tragedy, in a way that felt unified to the tie that binds us, as well as to amplify our impact.”
We designed this special edition scarf to commemorate the bond of sisterhood, not only ours but that of the sweet girls at Camp Mystic, holding hands and encircling Texas. We’ve inscribed the circle with Psalms 34:18, “The Lord is near the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” It’s beautiful and meaningful, and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to flood relief efforts, particularly toward the rebuilding and bolstering of the Christian camps that have been connecting kids to Christ for a century.
