Are y’all ready for a new collection? Because it’s time for Gayle!

Who is Gayle, you ask?

“Gayle is more of a ‘what’ and a ‘when’ than a ‘who’,” Cheryl explains. “It’s a time, an era, a look. It’s the rise of the TV Western, the glamorization of the cowgirl. It’s retro and sassy; it’s not overtly sexy, but it has a coquettish vibe to it. The colors are that cool mint and soft coral and black-and-white that takes you back to soda shops and mid-century diners. It kind of has that Gil Elvgren pinup feel, it celebrates women becoming ‘characters’ rather than decorations in small screen Westerns. It will feel nostalgic when you see it. ”

In continuing our “Closet Cocktails”, we will be premiering Gayle with Boozy Roy Rogers. Join us in the Double D Addiction group Thursday, April 22nd at 7:00 p.m. CDT for a lighthearted half hour of cocktails and conversation with Audrey and Cheryl, and then at 7:30, we’ll transition into a Facebook Live line launch of the Gayle Collection with all the commentary and comedy you’ve come to expect from the McMullen sisters! Don’t forget to RSVP to the Facebook event to be entered in the drawing to win all sorts of Double D goodies and make sure you tune in because you MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN! See y’all then!

You have two options/variations for your Boozy Roy Rogers, depending on your preference of liquor: “Classic” if you prefer vodka, or “Distinguish” if you’re more the bourbon type! We’ve provided both recipes below.

CLASSIC

  • 6 ounces cola
  • 1 1/2 ounces vodka
  • 1 ounces grenadine
  • maraschino cherry for garnish
  1. Fill a glass with ice and halfway with cola.
  2. Pour in the grenadine and vodka and top with more cola.
  3. Stir and enjoy.
  4. Garnish with a maraschino cherry.

DISTINGUISHED

  • 6 ounces cola
  • 1 ounce Kirsch
  • 1 ounces Bourbon
  • red or bing cherry for garnish
  1. Fill a fancy glass with ice and fill it halfway with the cola.
  2. Pour in the Kirsch and top off with more cola.
  3. Stir and enjoy.
  4. Garnish with a fresh cherry.
