If you were a free spirit in the 1960s with the wanderlust bug, but little in your pocket you traveled the "Hippie Trail" - the journey taken by hippies from Europe to southern Asia, India, and Sri Lanka. It was the perfect route to faraway places, exotic cultures and the chance to become a free, indie spirit - all for less than a dollar a day!

American novelist Paul Theroux wrote about his four-month, uninhibited adventure along the "Hippie Trail" in The Great Railway Bazaar.  This, now classic travelogue, inspired thousands to drop out and see the world. It also inspired Double D Ranch's Railway Bazaar Duster.

These wonderful jackets just came in this week! They are beautiful. Too bad I will have to wait for the next shipment, they are already out the door!

How interesting to learn that bit of history. I can see the appeal of the “Hippie Trail,” and it certainly inspired a beautiful jacket.

Sounds great! You need to come to Houston for my annual “YaYa back porch par’tay” in late oct! We are planning to open 3 more stores over the next few years here in Houston and now that my rep may no longer be doing wholesale looks like I may finally have to set up my own space up there. Call when ya get a chance! Xo
