Gals, what are we doing with our DDR scarves these days? They seem to just keep getting more gorgeous, and it’s a tough call whether we want to style them or stare at them!

“Our scarves have really evolved beyond just accessories,” said Cheryl. “Transitioning them to 100% silk elevated them immediately, that was a brilliant choice; it makes the colors present truer and adds a level of luxury that complements the leather really well. But more than that, it’s where we’ve taken them from a design perspective – particularly with our collaborating artists – has really made them wearable works of art.”

And that’s not hyperbole, the last two signature collection scarves originated as standalone creative works that either inspired the collection, like Ryan Buenning’s piece for Cowboy Graffiti, or were commissioned as part of a collab in which our vision and Dolan Geiman’s signature style came together in patriotic perfection.

Therein lies the problem! They’re so beautiful from corner to corner, is it blasphemy to twist them up and lose the big picture? Are they better suited for the wall, where we can appreciate them as a whole, a la Hermés?

“They’re a good size for a statement piece of artwork,” said Cheryl. “At 36x36 inches, you need a significant space so that it doesn’t entirely overwhelm the area, but perhaps above a sofa or mantle, or in a room for entertaining.”

If you do choose to turn your scarf into artwork – by the way, we think the Fort Worth Scarf would be an elegant touch to any Western-style abode or ranch house, and how can you resist the You Roped My Heart for your SheShed? – we do have a couple recommendations. For starters, get it done professionally; it will lay better and stay better, and you’re going to have a hard time finding a frame you like in that size right off the shelf anyway. And two, spring for the museum quality glass; it will protect your scarf from sun damage and fading, and it will also prevent glares!

By the way, OF COURSE, we’re joking about the blasphemy of wearing them – please wear them! That’s what we made them for, and it’s how you give them life and exposure outside your home!
