“It had instant appeal to me,” said Cheryl. “First of all, it’s unique – it’s not your typical leopard or cowhide – so that felt like a natural fit for Cowboy Graffiti, a collection that is just a little on the edge. The black and white was also in line with the collection’s palette, and it makes this hide extremely versatile; we really love to use animal print as a neutral anyway, and this one is perfect for that. It was a fortuitous find, to say the least, and it became a key component of Cowboy Graffiti.”
Turns out, we made it work in a lot of ways. Perhaps the most popular iteration has been the statement shorts – man, those got a lot of spotlight (no pun intended) during rodeo season! We also fashioned it into two different boots: the Howdy Dotty Boot, an all-over hair-on hide tall boot – showstoppers, for sure – and the heel of the Nu Cowboy Boot, just a touch of exotic to the biker-inspired style. We also crafted it into the chic Howdy Dotty bucket bag, and we even adapted it into a silk scarf. There are so many ways to sport your spots!
