We’re not talking cabernet and canapes – although we love that combination, too! – we’re talking a dynamic duo of hues that are bringing a richness to the runway this season.

“The key to this color combination is balance,” explained Cheryl. “Olive alone can sometimes come across drab, but when you bring in accents of that burgundy wine hue, it compliments and transforms into a look that’s luxe and rich. In this particular piece, the Top Ridge Weaver Jacket, the pattern and texture also contribute to that vibe – not to mention the lush fur collar – but it’s a good rule of thumb for wearing and pairing this season.”

Shouldn’t be too hard to remember, right? From hors d’oeuvres to outfits, olive and wine is a winning combination.

The other great thing about this duo of hues is that it can be boosted with additions of other complementing colors.

“Teal shades have been prevalent in all the Heritage Departures collections,” Cheryl said. “Hues that we call ‘lake breeze’ and ‘dark springs’ are slight variations of teal that we use to give a depth and dimension when paired with these olives and burgundies and even camo. They liven it up in a way. For instance, the Great Camps Sweater is a perfect example of how these palettes can balance each other for a beautiful color combination that feels rich and versatile.”
