An organization that’s been in existence for more than 80 years, Saga Furs has evolved from an auction house to the industry leader in grading and sourcing the world’s highest quality furs.
Saga grading is performed manually by expert graders, using a rubric that (at a glance) sounds surprisingly similar to that for grading diamonds, taking into account categories like quality and color, special characteristics, and clarity. Grades are ranked on a seven-tier scale, further broken down into factoring criteria like skin quality, underwool, nap, hair, and overall appearance.
In addition to being the industry authority on quality, the world also recognizes Saga as the ethical pioneer of sustainable and responsible practices.
