Happy Father’s Day to all the wonderful fathers and father figures out there!

From a pack of sisters who had one of the best, we hope you have the chance to make memories with your Daddy if you’ve still got him or take the time to cherish (and laugh) at the memories you made with him if you don’t.

CHERYL’S:

“This was back in the Mac Davis era, and you know he had that curly, permed look. So we decided we needed to perm Dad’s hair. And he let me. I gave him a home perm! These are the during and after photos. That will always be one of my favorite memories with Dad; it still makes us laugh all these years later.”

AUDREY’S:

“I love this picture of me with Dad. We were shooting for a Cowboys & Indians feature, and that was Daddy’s horse, Big Boy T -- he was one of our winners. It’s just a really fond memory I have with him, and it kind of encapsulates several significant pieces of our story, all rolled into one.”

HEDY’S:

This photo was taken before Illegal Memories won his big race. This was a huge win for Dad and this horse. All of the barn crew and owners wore pink shirts, which was kinda cool. After the race we went to IHOP to celebrate just as a family instead of a honky-tonk and getting drunk like everyone else. We just sat there and ate pancakes and talked about the race.”

And a cute memory of Hedy and Cheryl with Doug:

“This is a great memory for me from the Race Track. This was a Futurity in Goliad at La Bahia Downs. Glory’s Hemi was my favorite horse that dad had at the time. He was blind in one eye and he won a lot. That day it poured rain. Cheryl and I had some colored corn necklaces we got in Ruidoso and wore them; the rain washed all the color off the corn and stained our shirts.”

“Presley was obsessed with Barney when she was little. I got 3 tickets to go see Barney Live in Concert in Houston. Perry couldn’t go so Dad went with us. I mean, it was Barney, say no more! He was a trouper and bought her every twirly light souvenir they had.”
