Daddy Doug's famous phrase 'getting rigged up' has stuck with the sisters and in turn DDR through the years, and has inspired more than a couple of our collections. But no matter how much time passes, his South Texas sentiment remains one we live by to this day, 'cause when the time's right you just have to get yourself rigged up!

This year getting rigged up is all about being dressed up to the nines so that you're rodeo ready. We wanna see you headin' to the rodeo in head-to-toe Pecos collection, from your cowboy hat and Oscar Betz earrings to your MIL dress and matching yellow and blue Best Dressed Cowgirl boots.

Three tips to make your rodeo look stand out from the rest:

    1. Choose a bold print. Whether it's a traditional blanket pattern or our spring take on the iconic bandana, any kind of design that's gonna turn people's heads is essential when it comes to gettin' rigged up.
    2. Layering is key. A statement dress is great but if we really wanna get rigged up, try adding a statement studded jacket on top and then maybe even finish with some statement earrings. More is more when you're headed out in our opinion. How else are you gonna catch a cowboy's eye?
    3. Load up on the accessories y'all. We're not just talking about jewelry. The rodeo is a chance to show up and show out, so that means a big vintage belt buckle, a silk scarf, heck even a bolo. Don't worry about being too much, just think back to good ole' Daddy Doug… He'd be proud!

This is absolutely the best Texas family photo I think I’ve seen. It just captures a time and place, and generational love and pride. Thanks so much for sharing this with the rest of us.
