January felt like it was 87 days long, but now here we are, and February 14th is right around the corner. Somehow, Valentine’s Day falling on a Friday makes it feel extra special (though we’re not sure why?) and we think that’s reason enough to step up the celebration. That’s right, we’re saying scrap all that stale, same ol’ stuff and double down on DDR for the heart-tingling holiday. From apparel to accessories, trinkets to turquoise, Double D is the clear choice over all those clichés – and here’s why.

Listen, we love a little morsel as much as the next gal, but who needs chocolate candy when you can have eye candy?! And even if they do make it home, they’re smelly trash in a couple days anyway. You know what won’t lose its appeal over the weekend? A concho belt. A new pair of boots. A beaded handbag.

Let’s be honest, there are few days of the year that dining out can really be more trouble than it’s worth – Mother’s Day brunch, New Year’s Eve, and above all, Valentine’s Day. Unless you went ahead and booked a table back in 2024, you’ll probably have the option to eat at 4 p.m. or 9:30, and from a prix fixe menu, no less. Forego all that mess and let her feast her eyes on something shiny instead!

THE BUZZ WILL LAST FOREVER – AND WON’T CAUSE A HANGOVER!

There is some charm to the clink-clink of a champagne toast, but the buzz from the bubbly is short-lived, and who needs the headache the next day? We promise, she’ll get every bit as giddy from the contents of a signature brown box as she would from a bottle of orange label. Plus, that feeling will last as long as she has the piece, and she’ll think of you every time she puts it on.

No matter how you look at it, DDR is definitely the way to go – it’s the gift that keeps on giving!
