Spring is well underway and, believe it or not, we’re coming to the tail end of Cynthia. When we start to wind down a collection, we tend to find ourselves discussing, “If you had to pick a must-have from this collection, what would it be?” Well, this colorful collection has so many must-have pieces it’s impossible to pick a favorite. So, we picked five. (And it was hard to even narrow it down to that.)

FLIGHT FEATHER DRESS

You know a garment is really something special when every McMullen sister and about half the staff calls dibs on one right off the truck!

“Oh, I plan to live in this dress this summer,” Cheryl said. “And probably so will my sisters. And Nana, too, for that matter! First of all, I think it’s beautiful. I really like the feather aesthetic in this collection, and the colors – they just make you happy, ya know? Plus, it has a really great fabric and fit; it’s super lightweight and flowy and that’s not just something you want in a South Texas summer, it’s something you need!”

STOLEN PONIES PANT

You know a garment is really something special when every McMullen sister and about half the staff calls dibs on one right off the truck!

“Oh, I plan to live in this dress this summer,” Cheryl said. “And probably so will my sisters. And Nana, too, for that matter! First of all, I think it’s beautiful. I really like the feather aesthetic in this collection, and the colors – they just make you happy, ya know? Plus, it has a really great fabric and fit; it’s super lightweight and flowy and that’s not just something you want in a South Texas summer, it’s something you need!”

CAPTURED SCOUT JACKET

Maybe it’s the Galloway Green. Maybe it’s the eye-catching embroidery. Maybe it’s the beautiful beadwork. Whatever it is, the Captured Scout seems to be capturing a lot of hearts!

“There’s an element to this jacket – something almost intangible, something I can’t quite put my finger on – it just has a draw to it,” Cheryl said. “And it’s not just me, the Yoakum girls say that almost everyone who comes in the showroom gravitates toward it and, at the very least, ends up trying it on. I mean, obviously, there is a lot to love about it, but I feel like there is a magic to it that is hard to capture in photos, no pun intended.”

PRAIRIE FLOWER TOP

Is it possible for a top to be romantic? We think so. The silhouette, the sleeves, the embroidery; it all feels feminine and a little flirty, but not over-the-top, just pretty.

“Now that I think about it, I have to say, ‘pretty’ is not a word we use all that often when describing our garments,” Cheryl contemplated. “Not that we don’t think they are, but there always seems to be an adjective that’s more apt – it’s bold, it’s timeless, it’s striking, it’s sassy – whatever the case may be. But the Prairie Flower Top, when I look at it, the first word that comes to mind is ‘pretty’; it just really, really is.”

SPOILS OF LINNVILLE JACKET

If you’re not interested in being memorable, then this jacket isn’t for you. (That’s a joke; we know our Wolf Pack is a bunch of unforgettable gals who can’t help but make an impression!) Rocking a short sleeve jacket is a sure-fire way to make a statement, and serape never goes out of style – and this bold beauty is more versatile than you may think.

“Oh, I wish I could publish a catalog the size of a phonebook for every collection!” Cheryl laughed (adding a quick, “Relax, Audrey, I don’t actually have the time or energy” as she caught the comedic “Oh Lord” from her baby sister/CEO.) “But seriously, it would be awesome to showcase all the different ways I would style pieces*. Like this jacket – obviously, I love the bold look of it with the Spoils [of Linnville] Pant, the way we photographed it; but I would also use it as a statement piece to transform a white tank and jean shorts, or over an LBD with a pair of boots. The possibilities are endless, ladies – get creative!”

*This statement sparked an idea and (as is the way with creatives) a subsequent sidebar rabbit hole. So, we’re curious – would you be interested in virtual styling sessions? Essentially, you in your closet Zooming us in the showroom and we can play “paper doll” with what you have and what you want (read: probably need)!
