When designing Double D Ranch’s Fall 2011 collection, I used Lajitas’ colored history to inspire the line, which you'll hear more about later this week when we dive into that history of Lajitas and all the rich inspiration that leads us right into our Fall Collection: Outlaws and Outposts.

Hah! LOL! My living room is Antelope and Whiskey. I have an Agave bathroom. I guess I’ll blend right into my walls when I’m dressed in my Double D finest!

Cheryl – I love antique quilts, and two of my favorite color combos come directly from my quilts – I LOVE a great cheddar orange combined with a deep burgundy. That combo reminds me of autumn leaves. I found it in my Kurinji dress, but I’d love to see more!

I also love an aqua or teal combined with cherry red. This shows up in really old quilts from the early 19th century. I’m thinking a DD tee shirt in something like Oasis or Terlingua with a deep cherry embroidered Navajo-themed design – Kokopelli? Or feathers and baskets?

Oh, and, as a California girl, I’d love to see a summer tee with some sort of California cowgirl and palm trees. Ok—I’ll stop for now…

Jody – summer 2012 is already put to bed, but I would love to see your quilts for some color inspiration for the future. Do you have them photographed?
