During our Fall Collection shoot in Marathon, we got to meet practically
all 500 people that live within the city limits. Whether it was to see if we
could get some shots on their old rickety barn fence or during one of our (many) food finds.
.
Everything from yummy thin crust at Guzzi's Pizza, to the famous 12 Gage restaurant, to maybe a drink or two at The White Buffalo Bar, kept our metabolisms rolling and our energy level high for a full week.

Don and Jacquelin (and Miss Princess...Jacquelin's antiquing dog!) of the Burnt Biscuit.
.
So when a local mentioned there was a bakery on Main Street "famous" for their fried pies, well we just HAD to check that out! And thank goodness we did. Apricot, apple, blueberry, mincemeat and many more all natural, handmade empanada-like-works-of-art fill Shirley's Burnt Biscuit and take it from us: you need these in your life.
.
Good thing they ship!
.
Jacquelin and Don, gave us a VIP (Very Idealistic Pies) backstage tour of the kitchen where these little morsels of goodness are formed, fried, and shipped.
.
.
Like we said, THEY CAN SHIP TO YOU!
Call them for your next party or event!
(Also, look for a spread on the Burnt Biscuit in
Texas Monthly in the near future!)
