Happy Birthday Bone Lady!
Today is the 'Bone Lady's' birthday.
.That is the name an unenlightened museum art director gave to Georgia O'Keeffe when she wished to donate some of her work to his museum.
.
....not that work by that Bone Lady!
So today, since it is her 113th birthday, I want to share some of my favorite things about Georgia O'Keeffe. Here we go...
.1. I think she looks simply stunning and sophisticated in a turban.
..
2. I love the simplicity of her classic, all-black dressing.
.
3. I think she has one of the coolest patios in the world and I would have loved to been invited for a chat and an iced tea.
.
4. I think her hands are art themselves.
.
5. I like that she taught herself to drive her Model A Ford and her "Katy-bar-the-door" attitude towards anything that got in her way.

.
6. Right now, if I had to choose, I think I could stare at 'Pelvis with Moon' forever.

I admire that she could see beauty in simple things and that she stuck to her vision despite criticism – and how the colors of the New Mexican landscape inspired her!
I have been to the Abiquiu area and it is breathtaking!
