Design History 101: Shanghai Surprise
Following up on the Asian Fusion trend here's another key piece with gypset spirit, but with a military twist.
Double D Ranch's Shanghai Surprise Jacket takes a direct cue from a vintage floral Chinese robe. The "highs" of the intricate cherry blossom embroidery get interestingly mixed with the "lows" of vintage travel destination patches. The "high" of a genuine raccoon fur collar juxtapose the "low" of surplus military - transforming a basic travel jacket into a wardrobe 'must have'.
