There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:
a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain,
a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.

This was one of the scriptures the boys read yesterday at Dad's Celebration of Life.
There truly is a time for everything under heaven even though some seasons leave us heartbroken and saddened. My life will never be the same; there is a hole left vacant by my amazing Dad. For now I grieve, but at the same time I rejoice in his new life and the new life within the Double D Ranch family.
.
Please say "hello" to little Ava Jane. She is the new grand-daughter of Double D Ranch's amazing Melissa.

Hey Cheryl,
Love the scripture you posted from the celebration, it really says it all. Gretchen Jackson the lady who owned the racehorse Barbaro with her husband made a statement after he had to be put down and it has stuck in my mind since that day. She said that grief is the price we pay for love. I know how much you and your family loved your Dad and I can only imagine the hurt that you feel. Please know that you are being thought about and prayed for at this sad time!

When God takes away a special person from the earth…he sends a new very special person to take his place. Welcome Ava.
We had friends who have a little boy named Landry. His Dad was sitting in the waiting room with us when we received the news about my Dad. He got the news of Landry’s birth at almost the same time. I see Landry often at stock shows. He has no clue why I think he is so cool!!
