Elephantine
Today in Jaipur, India the local folk are celebrating the Elephant Festival-- a day completely devoted to the portly pachyderm. These ginormous beasts are groomed, draped and bedecked in luxurious raiment, jewels, and covered head to toe with vivid, hand-painted motifs.

And after the Pachyderm Parade, the day would not be complete without watching a lumbering Elephant Polo match.
