Henry Stone's lucky Civil War jacket (see Tuesday's post) fetched the tidy sum of $35,000 when the hammer dropped yesterday at Cowan's Historic Firearms & Militaria Auction.  The house added an additional 15% selling commission bringing the threadbare, military rag's final price to $40,250. The winning bidder was not disclosed and assuredly, at that price, it wasn't me. I do hope it finds a wonderful home. It's been through a lot.
