Necklace, Leather Thong, Stone Naja, Jesse Robbins Artisan, Hallmark, Contemporary, 1665

Size Guide
SIMPLE MEETS STATEMENT.

Long revered and heavily sought-after artisan and archaeologist Jesse Robbins combines his passions in this sleek and chic leather thong necklace. The sterling silver naja is neatly stamped with intricate thunderbirds and star and circle accents, adorned with an inlay of turquoise, orange spiny oyster, and black onyx. The leather strap has a sterling silver bead that allows you to adjust the length. It’s a beautiful, collectible piece for accessorizing your everyday outfit and also is the perfect piece for layering!

Jesse was born and raised in Prescott, Arizona and has been traveling and experiencing the American Southwest ever since. He was introduced to Native American jewelry through his mother at an early age. Through these unique surroundings, the seed was planted for future work to come. Early on, much of Jesse’s time with art was spent playing in the mud as he learned to create his first fine art through ceramics. In college Jesse found a new love in archaeology. Which he studied at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. Archaeology would take Jesse to every corner of the Southwest, eventually leading him back home to Prescott.

While in Prescott a chance meeting with Randy “Bubba” Shackelford, a local silversmith, would forever change Jesse’s path. Under Bubba’s tutelage working at Falcon Trading Company, Jesse was immersed in the traditional techniques of tufa cast and hand wrought silver work.

Today, Jesse continues to work as an archaeologist traveling the west with his eyes and heart. These forces always pull him back to the white metal and blue stones he has come to love. In his time off, Jesse follows his passion of manipulating silver and cutting stones. When possible he finds his way back to Prescott, where he and Bubba continue to collaborate together.

VINTAGE & OLD PAWN JEWELRY DISCLAIMER

  • Many of the jewelry items we sell are antique, vintage, and/or pre-owned. We acquire these pieces from dealers in New Mexico, Arizona, and Nevada, who work exclusively with Native American jewelry and art. That means they had a life before we found them, and they may show evidence of that previous life; signs of wear, dents, scratches, oxidation, broken stones, etc. We strive to be accurate and transparent in our descriptions of these pieces.

  • Jewelry items are not photographed to scale. We’re not trying to be tricky, our clothing items aren’t photographed to scale either (imagine how large that catalog would be!). Please check the description for the item’s dimensions and feel free to email us with any questions.

  • We are not gemologists. We choose pieces based on their overall aesthetic and how well they accessorize the Double D Ranch collection. Due to the high quality of laboratory-made stones and the influx of fake “Native American” jewelry from the Middle East, we rely heavily on our vetted suppliers to maintain a level of confidence in the quality of stones, provenance, and authenticity of each piece. We try our best to accurately describe the stones in our jewelry items but cannot absolutely guarantee them.

  • We celebrate aging. In ourselves, and in our jewelry. We want the true age of the piece to be represented, so we do not perform any type of cleaning or polishing. If the item is oxidized when we acquire it, that is precisely how you will receive it.
