Crafted by talented pottery artisan Tonya Lamb, this striking necklace features a San Ildefonso Thunderbird reproduction tile adorned with a cabochon of Kingman turquoise for the eye, affixed to a black leather strap with artificial sinew. Definitely cool, contemporary piece for your collection.
Tonya Norton Lamb is a contemporary American artisan rooted in rural Western Kansas. Born into a family of artists, much of Tonya’s upbringing revolved around exploration, art education, and archaeological digs, introducing her to museums throughout the West, bronze foundries, and private collections of Pueblo pottery.
After raising her two children and three stepchildren, Tonya returned to her love of the craft, particularly working with clay – which she says “keeps a person extremely grounded” – and recreating Southwest-style pottery in the studio she’s built on her Registered Angus ranch.
