THESE STERLING SILVER BEAUTIES NOT ONLY DAZZLE, THEY JINGLE!

These chic sterling silver Hubert Harmon earrings are vintage creations that date all the way back to the 1940s. The renowned jewelry artisan hails from Mexico and his work is highly coveted and collectible due to his limited time with the craft. These silver disc earrings are a classic and recognizable design of Harmon’s, featuring swirled discs adorned with tiny bell dangles that actually jingle! Penny Morrill and Carole Berk's book, MEXICAN SILVER (p.139) pictures a pair of Harmon earrings in this design. Really unique!

Hubert Harmon: (1910-2001) part of the Taxo jewelry scene of the 1940’s with fellow Americans William Spratling and margot.  Innovative painter, and fashion and jewelry designer.  Whimsical aesthetic

In the early 1940’s, Harmon and his wife moved to Taxco, Mexico where he worked briefly in jewelry design from 1943 to 1948 before moving to Mexico City. His Taxco shop began as a small workshop of silversmiths that included, among others, noted craftsman, Felipe Martinez. The artisans he employed transformed Harmon’s unusual designs into metal. The pieces created during this period are rare, imaginative, and very collectible. In fact, some of Harmon’s work was included in the traveling exhibit, William Spratling and the Mexican Silver Renaissance.

Harmon’s hallmark was a pair of feet with wings. Harmon’s designs are quite rare and highly sought-after because of the limited output and production.
