  • Cuff, Fred Harvey Railroad Era, Turquoise, Crossed Arrows, Maisels Trading Post, Vintage, 4449

    FOLLOW YOUR ARROW

This vintage creation is a sterling silver cuff bracelet from the Fred Harvey Railroad Era. A sterling silver band with detailed stamp work is adorned with multiple sets of crossed arrows and a trio of round turquoise stones. It has a delicate silhouette and beautiful details—definitely a statement piece that is unforgettable and worth the investment.

Maisel’s Indian Trading Post (Manufacturer; shop). The company was launched in 1923 by Maurice Maisel in Albuquerque, NM. Maisel’s was producing silver by the late 1920s and, having added labor-saving dies and drop press machinery in the production line, grew quickly in size to employ several hundred Native Americans, creating jewelry and other crafts for sale to tourists on Rt. 66. Perhaps the first Maisel’s that included machine-made silver for sale was the one published in the late 1920s. The company likely made jewelry retailed by Silver Arrow and Silver Products.

Over the years, at least three stores operated in various Albuquerque locations. The operation closed in the 1960s upon the death of Maurice Maisel, but reopened in the 1980s as Skip Maisel’s, named after Maisel’s grandson, Skip. Maisel’s began marking its silver production with a stamp after WWII. The company closed in 2019.
