  • Cuff, Cluster, Turquoise, Needlepoint & Snake Eyes, Spectacular, Quam Hallmark, Vintage ‘70s, 3968

You’ll never see anything like it in your life.

This eye-catching, jaw-dropping, incredible cluster cuff by the late John Quam – a renowned Zuni artisan – is nothing short of unbelievable. The lapidary skill of Zuni artisans is absolutely unrivaled and this piece exemplifies it in every way. The face of this cuff is adorned with hundreds of tiny petit point and snake eye stones set in tiny serrated bezels in a mesmerizingly uniform radial cluster arrangement, accented with sterling silver rope and drop details. It’s flanked by wings of the same. To imagine the hours of craftsmanship that went into this is simply unfathomable. A one-of-a-kind collector, for sure.

John Quam (?-1973; Zuni). Active since 1950s. Cluster work; needlepoint. Shared the mark with his wife, Bonnie Quam.
