An unbelievable authentic find, this vintage bag was a carrying satchel for the mail, emblazoned “Wells Fargo & Company Express, U.S. Mail, City Collection, Agt. Goldfield (Nevada)”. The heavy canvas bag is finished with leather trim and straps, and is completed with an attached ticket metal hole punch marked at one side "W.F. & Co's Ex." and the other side "Patrick's & Co., San Francisco" (company was founded in 1873). Truly a remarkable piece!
