MAURA ALLEN’S “SERENITY”

Maura Allen is a captivating and well-revered American artist, renowned for her signature style of silhouette imagery, which emphasizes the presence of the person, rather than their appearance. She uses her own photography images and enhances it into exquisite artwork through unconventional addition of color and her own artistic interpretation of what shapes and shadows are important to telling the story of the subject.

We had the opportunity and pleasure of collaborating with Maura on the 2025 Holiday Collection, incorporating some of her pieces into prints or transforming them into pieces all their own. This piece was commissioned specifically for the collaboration, and became one of the cornerstones of Past & Present, appearing as its own signature silk blouse, as the primary image on the season’s commemorative scarf, and also on a tee. Maura admits that the colors of the collection pushed her a little outside her traditional palette, and “that’s one of the best things that can happen to an artist.” Not only is it a beautifully poignant portrait, it also has a unique place in the Double D Ranch story – a multi-faceted win for your wall!
