This Zuni hoop dancer bolo leaves no doubt that someone traveled along Route 66 and visited the Pueblos to acquire this charming treasure. Handcrafted by Zuni artist, Lavonne Lalio, using hand-cut stones provided by the famed stone cutting Beyuka family, this novelty bolo features a ceremonial hoop dancer. If you look closely you can see the intricate cut details in the feathers, the bend of the arm, and other decorative accouterments. Set in sterling silver and pointed with silver rings at the feather tips.
Lavonne Lalio (Zuni). Inlay; pins’ pendants; rings; dancer motifs.
Mark: L L ZUNI (usually on an applied plate)
