This impossible-to-ignore buckle was crafted by the late Zuni artisan Elliot Qualo; his work is highly coveted and collectible. The impressive Crown dancer is inlaid with onyx, turquoise, mother of pearl, and coral, creating a mosaic picture. The artist added dimensionality with a sterling silver stamped scalloped border. It is placed on a black basket-stamped leather belt which helps each of the colorful stones pop. A great piece to complete any day or night look.
Elliot Qualo (1930 - 1974; Zuni) Active since 1960s. Mosaic and channel inlay; bird motifs. Award winning, son of Myra Qualo, born sometime in the 1930s, but did not start producing jewelry until about 1960. His creations were always award winning pieces and highly coveted by collectors all over the world. He produced from 1960 until about the late 1970s, upon his passing.
