It’s that time of year again! We’re about ready to pack our bags for Round Top Fall Market. We’ve got BINGO night, a style show, endless shopping, the Finders Keepers pop-up – so much to look forward to – and we can’t wait to see all the fashionistas’ fits!

“Round Top market is basically one big fashion show, really,” laughed Cheryl. “It’s always been one of my very favorite places because of my love for antiques and art and foraging for vintage finds, but lately, I love it just as much for all the outfits. I think people branch out more in Round Top than they probably do in their hometowns, and really have fun with their looks, perhaps try new trends they’ve been timid about before. With its whole ‘mismatched mudcat’ essence, I think Born on the Bayou is perfectly poised for the occasion!”

Here are some Bayou looks we’re loving that fit the town’s fun, funky vibe.

LOOK #1: Roadside Attraction Top, Fontenot’s Best Pants, Killer Croc Boot

If you’ve spent much time in Round Top, you get it – the aesthetic is casual, but with intention; relaxed, but never sloppy. This look is easy to wear and even easier to love. The top has a cheeky bayou charm and wears like a chic sweatshirt, and it’s complemented by the polished-casual vibe of the striped wide-legged pants. It’s easy and breezy and effortlessly cool.

LOOK #2: Isabella Blouse (tortoiseshell), Victoria Skirt, Spaghetti Western Boot (black)

Once again, we are so here for that leather-and-lace look! This skirt is one of the most versatile statement pieces because it works as a base, but it’s anything but basic. Kind of like the Rita Ruffle, you can pair it with a tee for a high-low look, or you can amplify the drama of it like we did here, with the irresistible Isabella top. This new silhouette is everyone’s favorite, and tortoiseshell as a print is just the right amount of look-at-me to stand out.

LOOK #3: Cowboy Bait Co. Jacket, Mossflower Tee, Driller’s Denim Pant, Texas Jack Boot (brown)

Ok, c’mon, how fun is this look?! These tops with tiny dots and ditsy prints are one of our favorite ways to add visual interest; it’s a touch of dainty in an otherwise bold, masculine look. And we can never sing the praises of the Driller’s Denim enough – the essence they bring to literally any outfit is undeniable. Here they work as a hearty counterbalance to the sheer top, but also tie together a whole vintage vibe with the colors and cut of the jacket.

LOOK #4: Dusk Over the Delta Jacket (emerald), Bandit Pant (black), Texas Jack Boot (black)

To us, this is a little more of a night look – something you might wear to DDR Bingo if you were lucky enough to snag a ticket, or to one of the many runway shows that take place during Fall Market. The Bandit Pant is an always-and-forever go-to (literally, we started making these almost a decade ago and the demand has never waned) and the Dusk Over the Delta Jacket in that gorgeous green colorway adds a certain WOW factor. This is your showstopper ‘fit, for sure.

LOOK #5: Marie Lace Dress (black), Marais Pom Bag (winter peach), Open Season Boot

This is where pretty meets playful. The dress has an easy elegance to it, with its sheer fabric and flowy, feminine silhouette in a chic, timeless black – you could honestly wear it anywhere from a formal to a funeral. And then, you’re completely caught off guard by the softness of the bag in terms of both hue and texture, plus the whimsical pom shape. It’s the perfect cheeky balance of serious and silly.

LOOK #6: Papier Peint Top, Papier Peint Skirt, Cattleman Boot (chocolate)

Why not sashay through the square in statement velvet? The gorgeous fall hues accentuate the Victorian-inspired print, and it has a luxurious movement that makes you appear like a walking work of art.
