We’ve photographed collections on all sorts of sets all over the country. We’ve tasted luxury on elegant estates and generational ranches. We’ve roughed it down steep canyons getting shaken like paint cans in the back of a jeep. We’ve captured “gambling glam” under the lights of a Las Vegas casino. But, we can say, this is our first time in a tire shop.

“Given the content of the collection, we wanted an edgy look with lots of drama,” Mitchell said. “We opted for hard light, so we scouted out Sam’s Tires & Wheels in Fort Worth. Cheryl spotted it just driving on her regular commute to the Stockyards. It had the perfect amount of garage grit, but was also tidy and organized, with tires stacked taller than me, chrome wheels, just everything we were looking for. We ended up filming the line launch there, too, which turned out very cool as well.”

Not too many difficulties stand out from this shoot, but what would a Double D Ranch photo shoot be without at least one hiccup?

“Well, we did almost get shut down,” laughed Mitchell. “We had permission from one owner to be there and be photographing, but there are multiple owners and not everyone was looped in that we were going to be there, it seems. Luckily, we smoothed it over and got to stay – and even come back for the launch filming. Matter of fact, I just had Sam’s fix Audrey’s tire last week. We’re all buds now.”

Oh, and speaking of cool garage vibes, we were fortunate to be lent that cool black vintage Cadillac from the Turquoise King, Garren Still. We’ve loved working with him, and I think we can all agree that car truly elevated the aesthetic.

So, all in all, somewhat uneventful as far as our shoots go, but an extraordinary outcome for the Cowboy Graffiti catalog!
