STORIES FROM THE SET: BEHIND THE SCENES OF COWGIRL RISING

The whole vibe of Cowgirl Rising is happiness – just joy and confidence and charm and everything Donna Howell-Sickles so expertly conveys in her colorful paintings. That’s what we aimed to capture through the lens and put into the pages of this catalog. And, we got lucky – it was easy to convey because that happened to be the genuine, authentic experience on the set.

“Listen, it’s always hard work – always,” said Mitchell. “But, we were pretty blessed with this shoot. We had good weather, we had happy and hilarious horses, and we were in a beautiful setting on a ranch outside of Trinidad, Colorado. And I gotta say, we’re getting pretty good at this! This particular group of people has been working together quite a while – obviously the sisters, but the models, hair and makeup, the techs – and we’ve developed a sort of shorthand that allows us to get our work done and still be able to enjoy the process.”
