This collection captures the charisma of the classic color combination and proves that fashion doesn’t have to be bright to be bold.

We’ve done a lot of “dopamine dressing” in the past few years, which has meant a lot of bright and beautiful hues that have been a fun treat. But sometimes, you just want to get back to basics.

“This design decision was very much a part of me blazing my own trail,” said Cheryl. “Which is the overarching theme of Fall 2024, and I am really committed to it. It was not something I pulled from trend reports – this monochromatic theme – it was something within me that I just kept coming back to. The majority of this collection is black or white or some combination of the two. There is some rust or sienna here and there, but when you picture this collection a year or two from now, I think you’ll remember it as the black-and-white collection. I think it lends a strength and sophistication that’s unrivaled.”

In reality, black-and-white is a bit of a misnomer, and at the very least, oversimplifies it.

“While most of Wide Open Trails is suited to every season, this is a fall collection,” Cheryl explained. “So rather than a true white – a crisp, optic white – Wide Open is designed in creams and winter whites, which soften and warm it up a bit. It still has that timelessness without being quite so stark.”
